புறத்து உறுப்பு எல்லாம் எவன் செய்யும்-யாக்கை அகத்து உறுப்பு அன்பு இலவர்க்கு?

பொழிப்புரை :

புறத்து உறுப்புக்கள் எல்லாம் என்ன செய்யும், உடம்பின் அகத்து உறுப்பாகிய இதயத்திலே, உள்ளத்திலே, மனதிலே அன்பு இல்லாதவற்கு?

விரிவுரை :

யாக்கையாகிய உடம்பின் புறத்து உறுப்புக்கள் எல்லாம் என்ன செய்யும்? அகத்து உறுப்பாகிய இதயத்திலே அன்பு இல்லாதவர்களுக்கு? அகத்தே அன்பிலாது, புறத்தே இருக்கும் உடலின் வெறும் வெளி அழகு பயனற்றதே. அந்த அன்பற்ற அழகினால் செய்ய முடிவதுதான் என்ன? மற்றும் அவர்தம் அன்பிலா அழகு வாழ்க்கைத் துணைவரின் மனதைக் கவராது, இல்லற இன்பம் தாராது, மொத்தத்தில் எந்தப் பயனும் இராது. அன்பிலாதவரை எவரும் விரும்புவரோ? எனவே அகத்திலே அன்பிலாதவற்கு அவரது புறக் கருவிகளினால் எந்தப் பயனும் விளையப் போவதில்லை என்பதும், உள்ளத்திலே அன்புசுரக்காது செய்யும் எந்தப் பணியும் துலங்கப் போவதுமில்லை, விளங்கப் போவதுமில்லை என்பதும் உட்கருத்துக்கள். ஆக உண்மையில் ஒருவருக்கு அவர் அகத்தே கொள்ளும் அன்பே அழகு என்பதும், அதுவே செய்யும் காரியங்களில் கை கூடும் என்பதாலும், புறத்தே இருப்பதை அழகென்று கூட வள்ளுவர் ஒப்புக்கொள்ளவில்லை என்பதே அவர் புற உறுப்பு என்று சொல்லுவதிலேயே விளங்கும். அகத்திலே அன்பிருந்தால், புறத்தே செய்யும் செயலிலும் தெளிவும் அழகும் திருத்தமும் வரும். அன்பற்றவரின் புறக் கருவிகள் எத்தனை அழகானதாய் இருப்பினும், யாரையும் வசீகரிக்க இயலாது; அவை பயன் தராது. ஆக அன்பற்ற இதயத்தால் என்ன பலன்? அவர்தம் அன்பற்ற செய்கையினால்தான் என்ன பயன்?

Meaning :

What good can their external features do for those who have no Love in their internal part?

Explanation :

What good can their body external features do, for those who have no Love in their heart, the internal part? Without Love inside, external features and its outward beauties are useless. What good can that external beauty possibly do? Furthermore, their external grace will not attract the hearts of their Life partner, will not give any conjugal pleasure, and will yield totally no any use. Will anybody like the Loveless? This Kural also means that for the Loveless in their heart, no use at all by their external features. And also without Love pouring in their heart, none of their work will shine and they never get successfully completed. Therefore the actual grace is only that the Love one posses internally, and that gets reflected in the work they accomplish. Hence Valluvar not even considers the external features as grace at all and refers them as just body’s external parts. When there is Love inside, the carried out accomplishments also reflect it such that it shows up more clearer and graceful. Let whatever be the grace they contain in the external features of the Loveless, it can’t attract anyone and it cannot provide any use to anybody. Therefore what is the use of Loveless heart? What is the use of their Loveless doings?

அன்பு அகத்து இல்லா உயிர் வாழ்க்கை வன்பாற்கண் வற்றல்மரம் தளிர்த் தற்று.

பொழிப்புரை :

அன்பு அகத்தே இல்லாத உயிர் வாழ்க்கையானது, வல்லிய கற்பாறையின் மேல், வற்றிப்போன மரம் தளிர்க்க முயற்சித்தல் போலாகும்.

விரிவுரை :

அன்பு எனும் ஈரம் அகத்தே இலாது வாழும் உயிர் வாழ்க்கையானது, நீர்மையற்ற வல்லிய கற்பாறையின் மேல், வறண்டு வற்றிப்போன மரம் தளிர்க்க முயற்சிப்பதைப் போலாகும். மிகவும் கடினம் என்பது பொருள். அன்பு எனும் நீர்மை, ஈரம், தண்மை ஒருவருக்கு அகத்தே இல்லாது போனால் வாழ்க்கை வறட்டுத்தன்மை கொண்டதாகத் தானே இருக்க முடியும். அவர்களால் குளிர்ச்சியாகவோ, மலர்ச்சியாகவோ, இனிமையாகவோ, சகஜமாகவோ பழக இயலாமல் வறட்டுத் தனத்தையும், முறட்டுத் தனத்தையும், வன் கொடுமையையும், எரிச்சலையும், வாட்டத்தையும் மட்டுமே காட்ட இயலும். அவர்களின் வாழ்க்கை இனிமையுறும் வாய்ப்பு முற்றிலும் இற்றுப் போய்விடவில்லை என்பது ஓர் ஆறுதலான விடயம். அதாவது கற்பாறை போன்று இருக்கும் அகத்து உள்ளே, ஈரம் சுரக்கும் அன்பை விதைத்தால் காலங்களும் மாறும், காயங்களும் மாறும். அரக்க குணம் அற்றுப் போய் வறட்சி நீங்கி வளர்ச்சி தோன்றும். வாழ்க்கை மலர்ச்சி காணும். எனவே அன்புடைமை என்பது அகத்தே தண்மை உடைமை என்பதே என்று அறிவோமாக.

Meaning :

Living a life with no Love inside is like a withered tree trying to sprout on a rock.

Explanation :

The Life without Love inside is like a sapless tree attempting to sprout on a rock soil. It is very hard to succeed is thus the meaning. Love, the wetness, the moisture, the calmness when not inside there for one, won’t it’s Life become dry and hard? They can’t be cool, happy and normal instead they become dry, withered, rough, and tough and show only irritation, sorrow and misery. One consolable thing for them is that their Life is not completely lost the chance of getting happiness. By seeding the kind springing Love in their stone like hearts, the changes can occur to see changed time and to cure the wounds. The ill thinking gets eliminated, withering goes away and growth occurs. Life flourishes. Therefore, Let us understand that possessing Love in the heart means containing the kindness there.

என்பு இலதனை வெயில் போலக் காயுமே- அன்பு இலதனை அறம்.

பொழிப்புரை :

எலும்பு இலாத புழுக்களை வெயில் காய்த்து வருத்துமே அதைப்போல அன்பு இலாதவரை வருத்தும் அறம்.

விரிவுரை :

எலும்பற்ற உயிரிகளான புழுக்களை வெயில் காய்ந்து வருத்திவிடுமே, அதைப் போன்றே அன்பற்றவர்களைக் காய்ந்து வருத்திவிடும் அறம். அன்பிலாதவர் எலும்பற்ற புழுக்களைப் போல அறம் எனும் வெயிலில் காய்ந்துவிடுவர் என்பது பொருள். ஆக அன்புடையோர், முதுகெலும்பு உடையோராய் காய்த்தல்களிலிருந்து தப்பிவிடலாம். எனவே மக்காள் அன்பு கொள்ளுவீர். அன்பு என்பது கருணை பொழியும் ஓர் உணர்வு; அன்புடையோர் என்போர் ஈர இதயம் உடையோர். அற வழியில் அவர்பால் எந்தக் காய்ச்சலும், வறட்சியும் துன்பத்தை ஏற்படுத்த முடியாது என்பது துணிபு. மாறாக அன்பிலாதோர் கருணை அற்றோர், நெஞ்சத்தில் ஈரமற்றோர். எந்தக் காய்ச்சலிலும் அவருக்குத் துன்பமே அதிகம்; எனவே அவர், புளுக்கள் போல், எளிதாகச் சுருண்டு விடுவர் என்பது ஈண்டு நோக்கத் தக்கது. பிறர் துன்பங் கண்டு வருந்தும் தாய் உள்ளமும், ஏழைகளுக்காய் இரங்கும் கருணை இதயமும், அழுவோரைத் தேற்றும் அன்பு நெஞ்சங்களும், ஆதரவற்றோரை அணைக்கும் கரங்களும் என்றும் அன்பைப் பொழியும் மானுடச் சுரப்பிகள்; வற்றா ஊற்றுக்கள். அவரைக் காய்க்கும் துன்பம் அறத்தின்பால் வருமா? வந்தால் அது அறமா? எனவே அன்பில்லாதவரே காய்ப்பர், காய்க்கப் படுவர், கருகுவர்.

Meaning :

The Boneless wither in the sun, likewise, the loveless suffer in the virtues

Explanation :

The hot sunlight withers the boneless worms; similarly, the virtue suffers the Loveless. Loveless are similar to the boneless to suffer in the light of virtue, is the meaning. Also it means that the Loving can sustain and escape in case of withering as they have the bones. Therefore guys, bear the Love in you. Love is the emotion of kindness. Loving have the kind and wet heart. Therefore in their virtuous path, there can’t be any withering or dryness to create sufferings to them. On the other hand, Loveless do not have kindness or wetness in their heart. Therefore they suffer any withering the most. Hence they are compared to the boneless in their sufferings for the withering out. The motherly hearts which shed tears for other’s sufferings; the kind hearts which grieves the poor, the graceful hearts which consoles the weeping, the noble hearts which embraces the orphans, all of them are the Love pouring human glands, non stopping human Love fountains. Will there be chance of withering them out in the path of virtue? If so will it be the virtue? Therefore only Loveless go dry, wither, burnt and suffer.

Message :

The loveless in life will wither, shrink and fade.
