அகன் அமர்ந்து செய்யாள் உறையும்-முகன் அமர்ந்து நல் விருந்து ஓம்புவான் இல்.

பொழிப்புரை :

[திருமகள்] அகத்தே அமர்ந்து உறை வாசம் செய்வாள், முகம் மலர்ந்து நல் விருந்து பேணுவான் இல்லத்தில்.

விரிவுரை :

முகம் மலர்ந்து நல் விருந்து பேணுவான் இல்லத்தில், திருமகள் அகம் மலர்ந்து உறை வாசம் செய்வாள். திருமகள் வசிக்கும் இல்லத்தில் “திரு” கொழிக்கும். செல்வம் செழிக்கும். எனவே இன்முகத்துடன் விருந்தினரை உபசரித்து, அவர்களைப் பேணி நல்விருந்து படைக்கும் நல்லோருக்கு அவர்கள் வீட்டில் திருமகள் மனம் மலர்ந்து வாசம் செய்து நன்மைகள் செய்வாள் என்பது தெளிவு. தினம் விருந்தினருக்குப் படைத்தாலும் செல்வம் குறையாது என்று முன்னர் குறளிலே சொன்னாரே அதுவும் இதன் பால்தான் என்பது மட்டுமல்ல, மேலும் வளம் கொழிக்கும்; செல்வம் பெருகும் என்பதும் இப்போது தெளிவாகுதல் நன்று. இங்கும் திருவள்ளுவர் அகன் அமர்ந்து செய்யாள் என செல்வத்திற்கு அதிபதியாக பெண் தெய்வத்தை எந்த நாமமும் இடாமல் சொல்வது, மதச் சார்பு இல்லா நிலையில் சொல்லவே என்பது ஈண்டு நோக்கத்தக்கது. பாலைக் குறிப்பிடாத இறை, தெய்வம், கடவுள் என்பதையே இதுவரையில் பயன் படுத்திய வள்ளுவர் முதலில் பெண்ணாக உருவகப் படுத்துவதும், அதுவும் மனத்தே அமர்ந்து இருப்பவள் என்று சொல்வதும் திருமகளையே, இலக்குமியையே மறைமுகமாகக் குறிப்பிடுவதாக எண்ணத் தோன்றுகின்றது. ஆயின் திருமகளை சைவமும், வைணவமும், சமணமும் போற்றிவருவதும், நாமம் குறிப்பிடாதே பொதுவாகவே சீதேவியாகவும் போற்றப்படுவதும் அன்றையக் கலாச்சாரத்தைப் பிரதிபலிப்பதாகக் கொள்ளலாம். அன்பும், பண்பும், இனிமையும் சேரும், நிறையும் இடத்தைத்தானே திருமகளும் சேர்வாள்; மனம் நாடுவாள். உறைந்து வசிப்பாள். எனவே விருந்தினரைத் திருமகளின் தூதுவராய் எண்ணி அவரைப் பேணினும் கூடத் தவறில்லைதான். ஏனென்றால் பின்னாலேயே திருமகள் வந்து விடுகின்றாளே. ஆக விருந்தினரை இன்முகத்துடன் பேணுதல் மிக மிக அவசியம்.

குறிப்புரை :

இன்முகத்துடன் விருந்தினரைப் பேணின் திருமகளும் உளம் மகிழ்ந்து வந்து நிறைவாள்.

Meaning :

The Goddess of Wealth will gladly dwell their home where the smiles welcome and treat the guests.

Explanation :

In the house where one welcomes their guests with smiles and tend them, The Goddess of Wealth will gladly fill in and stay. Luck and prosperity grows where the Goddess of Wealth resides. Therefore it is clear that for those who welcome the guests with hospitality, tend and treat them with Love, prosperity comes to them through the Goddess of wealth dwelling with themselves. Treating and tending the Guests day-by-day will not impoverish nor go ruin was the previous kural, thus gets explained here by Valluvar for its secret of their means and revenues. It is more clear that not only just the revenues but also the growth and continuous prosperity are there on it. Here too Thiruvalluvar mentions the Goddess of wealth without any name and as that who resides in the heart, only to reflect his stand on secularism. So far he had used 'Irai', 'Deyvam' and 'Kadavul' to the God, but now he mention here as Goddess, that too as who resides in the heart. That seems to be pointing the 'Thirumagal' or the Lakshmi for many. But the Goddess Thirumagal is mentioned in Saivam, Vaishanavam, Jainism and also generally without giving any name as 'Seethevi' . Therefore we can take it as reflection of the culture of Valluvar's period. The Goddess of Wealth too joins, enjoys and stays only where Love, culture and happiness are getting together. Therefore it is nothing wrong to treat the Guests as if they are the ambassadors of the Goddess of Luck, because the Goddess follows them instantly to the deserving Hosts. Therefore it is very important to tend and treat the Guests with smiles at always.

Pleasing hospitalities extended to Guests brings the Goddess of Luck to smile and dwell in their home happily.
