எக்காலத்தும் போற்றப்படும் உதவி... எழுமை எழு பிறப்பும் உள்ளுவர்-தம்கண் விழுமம் துடைத்தவர் நட்பு.

பொழிப்புரை :

[நல்லோர்] ஏழேழ் பிறவிக்கும் நினைத்து மதிப்பர் - தமது துன்பத்தைத் துடைத்தவரின் நட்பை.

விரிவுரை :

தமது துன்பத்தைப் போக்கியவரின் நட்பைச் சான்றோர் ஏழேழ் பிறவிக்கும் மறவாது நினைத்துப் போற்றுவர். செய் நன்றி மறவாத சான்றோர், தமது துன்பம் நீக்கியவரின் நட்பை இப்பிறவி மட்டுமல்லாது ஏழேழ் பிறவிக்கும் நினைந்து போற்றுவர். துன்பக் கண்ணீரைத் துடைத்தவர் நட்பை என்றென்றும் மறக்க ஒண்ணாது என்பது உட்பொருள்.

குறிப்புரை :

துன்பம் தீர்த்தவர் நட்பை நல்லோர் எக்காலத்திலும் போற்றுவர்.

உள்ளுவர் - எண்ணுவர், நினைப்பர், மதிப்பர் விழுமம் - துன்பம்

ஒப்புரை :

ஔவையார். மூதுரை: உடன் பிறந்தார் சுற்றத்தார் என்று இருக்க வேண்டா உடன் பிறந்தே கொல்லும் வியாதி - உடன் பிறவா மாமலையில் உள்ள மருந்தே பிணி தீர்க்கும் அம் மருந்து போல் வாரும் உண்டு. 20 ஔவையார். நல்வழி: பூவாதே காய்க்கும் மரமும் உள மக்களும் உளும் ஏவாதே நின்று உணர்வார் தாம் உளரே - தூவா விரைத்தாலும் நன்றாகா வித்தெனவே பேதைக்கு உரைத்தாலும் தோன்றாது உணர்வு. 35

Meaning :

The Wise esteems through sevenfold births, the friendship of those who wiped their tears of distress.

Explanation :

The impertinent esteems throughout for sevenfold of births, the friendship of those who wiped their tears of affliction. The wise who remembers the helps received, regards high of the friendship of that who wiped out their adversity not only during this birth but also the sevenfold of next births. The friendship of those who wiped out the tears of hardship cannot be forgotten is the message imbibed here.

Message :

Wise esteems forever the friendship of that which helped them in distress.

நல்லாரை, உதவியோரை மறுக்காதே... மறவற்க, மாசு அற்றார் கேண்மை; துறவற்க துன்பத்துள் துப்பு ஆயார் நட்பு.

பொழிப்புரை :

மறவாதீர் மாசு அற்றார் நட்பை; துறவாதீர் துன்பத்தில் ஆதரவு நல்கியோர் நட்பை.

விரிவுரை :

மாசு அற்றார் நட்பை மறக்காதீர்; துன்பக் காலத்தில் ஆதரவு செய்தவரின் நட்பைத் துறக்காதீர். மாசற்றார் நட்பு எக்காலத்திலும் நன்மையும், இன்பமுமே பயக்கும். துன்பத்தில் ஆதரவுக் கரம் கொடுத்து நல் உதவிகளைச் செய்தோர் எக்காலத்திலும் துறந்து விடக் கூடாது. துன்பத்தில் உதவி செய்தவரின் உதவியையும், நட்பையும் மறக்க ஒண்ணாது, துறத்தலும் கூடாது. அதைப் போலவே குற்றமற்றவர் நட்பையும் மறக்கவோ, துறக்கவோ கூடாது. நல்லோரின் நட்பு சமூக வாழ்க்கையில் நல்லவை தொடர என்றும் தேவை.

குறிப்புரை :

நல்லோரையும், உதவி செய்தோரையும் மறக்கவோ, துறக்கவோ கூடாது.

ஔவையார். மூதுரை: நல்லாரைக் காண்பதுவும் நன்றே; நலம்மிக்க நல்லார் சொல் கேட்பதுவும் நன்றே - நல்லார் குணங்கள் உரைப்பதுவும் நன்றே; அவரோடு இணங்கி இருப்பதுவும் நன்று. 8

Meaning :

Forget not the friendship of the blameless; nor forsake the friendship of those who helped in your hardship.

Explanation :

Never forget the friendship of the pure; never abandon the friendship of those who helped in your adversity. The friendship of the unimpeachable always yields goodness and happiness. Those who helped during the hardship should never and ever be omitted. Never forget the help and omit not the friendship of those who assisted in the bad times. Likewise never forget nor forsake the friendship of the blameless. Good one's friendship is ever required to continue the goodness in the social life.
