செய்யாமல் செய்த உதவிக்கு வையகமும் வானகமும் ஆற்றல் அரிது.

பொழிப்புரை :

பிரதி உபகாரமாகச் செய்யாமல் செய்த உதவிக்கு, வையகமும், வானகமும் கூட ஈடாகுதல் அரிது.

விரிவுரை :

தான் எந்த உதவியும் செய்யாமல், தனக்கு ஒருவர் செய்த உதவிக்கு வையகத்தையும், வானகத்தையும் [இணைத்தும்] ஈடாக ஆக்குதல் அரிது. பிரதிபலனாகச் செய்யப் படும் உதவி, நன்றிக் கடனைத் தீர்ப்பதால் அதற்கு ஒப்பீடு இருக்கிறது. ஆனால் பிரதி பலனாக அன்றிச் செய்யப்படும் முதல் உதவிக்கு ஒப்பீடு ஏது? அது ஈடு, இணையற்றது. எனவே அத்தகைய உதவிக்கு பூமியும், வானமும் இணையாகாது. செய்யாமல் செய்த உதவி என்பதற்கு யாரும் செய்யாமல் கைவிட்ட போழ்து செய்த உதவி என்றும் கொள்ளலாம். மேலும் செய்ய இயலாது, சிரமத்தின் ஊடே செய்யப்பட்ட உதவி என்றும் கொள்ளலாம். அனைத்திலும் அத்தகைய உதவிக்கு கைம்மாறாக விண்ணையும், மண்ணையும் சேர்த்துக் கொடுத்தாலும் ஈடாகாது என்பதே கருத்து. எனவே செய்யப்பட்ட உதவியின் அளவைக்காட்டிலும் அதற்குக் கைம்மாறு செய்வதற்காகக் காட்ட வேண்டிய நன்றிக்கு அளவே இல்லை என்பது உட்பொருள். உண்மைதானே? எங்கோ பிறந்து, எங்கோ வளர்ந்து, சம்பந்தமில்லாத நபர் ஒருவர் கருணை கொண்டு செய்யும் ஒரு சின்ன உதவியினால் வாழ்வில் முன்னேறி இருப்பவர்கள் காலா காலத்திற்கும் அவருக்கு நன்றிக் கடன் பட்டிருப்பார்களே. அதற்கு அளவு ஏதும் உளதோ? அன்றில் நன்றி மறந்தவர்கள் உண்மையில் மனிதர்களா?

குறிப்புரை :

பிரதி பலனன்றிச் செய்யும் முதல் உதவிக்கு பூமியும், வானமும் இணையாகாது.

seyyAmal seytha uthavikku vaiyakamum vAnakamum ARRal arithu.

Meaning :

The unreciprocated help offered cannot be compensated with Sky and Earth together.

Explanation :

Having no any help received previously, if one offers the help; such help cannot be equaled with sky and earth together. The help offered after any prior helps received becomes reciprocated help and there is possibility always to compare it with the previous one. But is there a comparison for the unreciprocated help that is the first help? That cannot be compared at all. Therefore it cannot be equalized even with sky and earth put together. "seyyAmal seytha uthavi' in Tamil can also be considered as not only that The help offered without any prior helps, but also that the help not offered by any others. Also it can mean as the Help rendered with great difficulties. However in all the cases the driving point is that such help cannot be compared with sky and earth together. Therefore than the size of the actual help offered, the size of the reciprocation and the gratitude in return for it cannot be measured and compared. That is the implied meaning here. Is it not true? Born somewhere, brought up somewhere but with no any relation as such, someone out of blue comes and kindly offers a small help, to turn and change the entire life and be the cause for successful life of today. For such help received, the receivers will have gratitude throughout their life. Is there any measure to it? Or one who forgets such helps will be indeed a human being?
