Thirukkural
is a Secular Lifestyle Book. This is the scripture of the Tamils. It is an
incomparable epic that not only transcends time but also stands forever for
the times to come.
By it's general sovereignty, by it's way of life with literature, by it's
deepest perception, experience, and clarity and planning of the highest
thought and through intertwined with divinity, wisdom, mathematics, science,
psychology and biology, by its highest guidance,
for a man must adhere in order to attain the home knowing by following the virtue,
substance, and pleasure; and because it's a moral system told to man by man,
and by pride that has transcended criticism for ages, let us realize that, the
Holy Four Marai Scripture, indeed is this.
With this great unparalleled life guide, For the doubts that arise in our
lives, past the religious observances, from time to time we must read the
ways of our good author, remembering, finding and understanding the right
Kural for any situation in life and Let us follow his path and succeed in our
lives.
Greetings on the author of the book:
Its author is Thiruvalluvar, who is known as the Lord (Iraiyanar) by his
ideas and as the UnlyingText (Poyyamozhi) by his great work Thirukkural.
We also get the great thought on theology of Thiruvalluvar from his first
chapter " In Praise of the God". Emphasizing that One clan, One God
with exhaustive clarity, with no support on any particular pro-religionic
stand, explaining the need for God, sublimity, and purpose in life, registering
the way of life here together, as the scripture for the mankind, he makes it
acceptable to all. This is The greatness of the Valluvar.
Without showing the slightest hint of self, of one's own religion, or of
one's own language, in such a way as to pave the necessary way for man,
through having created the great Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar was an
incomparable scholar, poet, sidhar, sage, yogi, healer, psychiatrist,
socialist, reformer, professor, nobleness, a good guiding friend and by means
of all together he is seen as the best among the world's greatest thinkers.
The strength of Valluvar's Valluvam is that without saying that it's of
beyond criticism, it offers anyone with no hesitation to examine it and to
accept it.
Thirukkural: 423
EpporuL yaar yaar vaaik ketpinum
apporuL meipporuL kaaNpathu aRivu.
(The wisdom is that to discern the truth from whatever and whomever spoken.)
Is the saying of Thiruvalluvar.
Without saying anything like you should not doubt on me, or without
saying that the phrase is not for me but only for others, Kural declares with
confidence to criticize all of it, to experiment it, and to follow it only
when trusted. He knows its strength. Nowhere had he claimed that whatever he
said were immutable laws and he had never ever recorded so. And there arises no need to replace
them ever. If we keep in mind that, there are religious scriptures which
claim themselves as the unchangeable laws, and then there are some scriptures
which have been modified as many testaments, then the uniqueness of this
unchanged holy scripture’s state and the greatness of its author, can be
further understood easily.
While we are proud of the fact that Thiruvalluvar is a Tamil and he conveyed
his thoughts to the world through his mother tongue Tamil, the gratitude to
that teacher we give and show is to rise in life by following the foot
steps that he has laid down through his Kural. Spreading the way of life he
shows, to others and to other languages, is the least possible service we may
offer.
