Explanation : | ||
One who forgets the readings can recollect it by re-reading; but that who is on duty to supervise the discipline when falls short of discipline in his own conduct, gets irreparable downcast indignity to his lineage. As described in the previous Kural explanation, one's ancestral lineage itself is doubted, when one that is suppose to implement discipline fails in his own discipline, his birth goal of liberation gets spoilt is the meaning. Goal of the birth is only to get the liberation, but when one falls short in the discipline he can't attain the liberation and hence his current life or the birth gets simply wasted. Learnt education when forgotten can be recollected by studying it again. But by mistake one should not forget to practice the discipline because if not done so it cannot be restored at all. Therefore for ignoring or missing the discipline one should not blame the memory or remembrance is the implicit meaning here. Actually than the education which comes through study, the discipline which comes through the practice is much greater and hence it should not be ignored or forgotten is also the implicit meaning here. | ||
